"Panties on Her Face", Peace Makers & Love Nectar, Oh My! A Look At Shimoneta, Censorship & Sexual Repression (18+)
Panel Room 3
Saturday: 12:00am - 12:50am
Shimoneta (or "Shimoseka" as it's known in Japan) started out as a "Light novel" series, released on July 18, 2012, that takes aim at Japanese censorship laws, including the controversial "Tokyo Metropolitan Ordinance Regarding the Healthy Development of Youths" enacted in December 2010. The law, called Bill 156, has one VERY controversial provision in particular, that states "Parents who wish to remove filtering from their children's mobile phones must submit a written request to their phone service provider, and this request must be for reasons the Metropolitan government considers justified." If this remind you of George Orwell's "1984", good news! That, as well as several other like media titles will be discussed as well. And in conclusion, there is ANOTHER, very important issue that will be discussed in this panel. It's an issue, that doesn't get NEARLY enough attention as it should. And that's the issue of "Sexual Repression". Ever since the Greco-Roman world, there were stringent laws against adultery, which obviously caused people to be more sexually repressed. The history of this issue will be discussed in full as well.
